The exhibition tells a vivid story of radio and TV broadcasting in Finland from the perspective of the listeners, viewers and programme creators. How did television triumph in Finland in the 1950s? How were television programmes made before the digital era?

The exhibition also makes you think about the future of radio and television technology. Radio and TV devices have become increasingly small in size. They used to be the largest objects in the living room – now you can carry them in your pocket. What will watching TV be like in 2050?

In the Media Tunnel, you can enjoy popular programmes from years gone by. In the Live Room, you can see what kind of media devices people used to have in their homes going back through history.

The downstairs exhibition can also be visited in the company of one of our virtual guides: Mrs. Nostalgia, Tellu or Hertsi, the technical guide!
